Hi guys, and welcome to the Clutterbuck family. This is a legacy challenge called Build A New Life created by Krazybabe123 off Mod the Sims.

As a side note this is my first ever legacy, so any pointers would be very helpful! I would like to say in advance I’m sorry if my graphics aren’t perfect, my computer can’t take the maximum settings, but I don’t really notice a difference myself.

This is just a small intro post to the family and the background, as well as a learning post for me as i try to figure out how to stop the action buttons and such showing up!

The legacy rules can be found here
The basics are to start with nothing, remove the adult sim as soon as the child reaches Young Adult, then complete the "Living in the Lap of Luxury" LTW, and obviously build a house to go with it!

First off we meet Cordelia Clutterbuck. She was once a roadie for Sim Bass, a heavy metal sim group. She was in a relationship with the lead singer Donald. However, when he found out she was pregnant he dumped her, leaving her with just the clothes on her back. Now she reluctantly lives with his child. Every time she looks at the kid it painfully reminds her of what she could have had with Donald. Cordelia finds it hard to show the kid anything but hatred

And this is her son Table, named such as Cordelia once heard that’s what Donald would call a child. Table is very withdrawn but driven. He hates his mother, the way she treats him, and wishes for a way out. One day he hopes to earn enough money to become rich and show his biological father what he missed out on.

Table gets bullied for his bizarre dress sense, but nobody knows he has to forage for it himself, his mother never helps.

[insert Table picture here]

After living rough on the streets, and really letting herself go, Cordelia was left a piece of wasteland by a deceased relative

Cordelia: Nice, they never thought to help when I was homeless!

Both Cordelia and Table moved in to find the place in a state of huge disrepair. Between them they had only $50 left – well, that and a whole lot of hate!

This is their new home, just a table, 2 chairs and a bench to their name.

Table sees the bright side to this, even if his mother doesn't.

Table: Hey Mum, isn’t this brilliant, we can start again, we can be a family. I love –

Cordelia: *Sneers* what? You think this fixes all the mess you made of my life?

Table: But…

Cordelia: I could have been huge if it wasn’t for you! You were the biggest mistake of my life!

Table: *sobs* B…Back to f…fending for m…myself again *cries*

Table runs off crying, nothing has changed, his dreams of reconciliation are shattered.

Next time:
Will Table find happiness?
Will Cordelia's get the stick out of her rear and look after her son?
Will Table finally be able to make friends and have a good life?

Clutterbuck legacy 1.1

All here... Whenever i get around to it and figure out how to get rid of the action buttons! If anyone can tell me how to get rid of them and the pause button you would be God's forever! Also, how is the  image size?

Are you using a print screen program like Gadwin or Fraps or something else? The in game camera (c) won't show any of the actions or the pause line. Print screen programs always show everything, but you can crop them out using a photo editing program. Usually people resize images to 600 pixels wide, but really, you do what you like as far as that goes. Have fun with your new legacy! :)

They go in your sims 3 folder under screenshots. It's the easiest way to do things. A print screen program and edit do make slightly better photos, but it's more work. You've just gotta try it out and see what you like best. What are you using to edit your photos now?

i just set gadwin to do the pictures at a width of 480 and a height of 300 (i got the dimensions off of a picture i found on the sims3 comm)

i did the text in microsoft powerpoint, i didn't know where to find something that could deal with more than one pic at once

and hey, i just found the screenshots folder! turns out all that random keybashing the first time i accidentally hit tab took a load of pics lol

Oh, poor Table!

Try to use the sims3 in camera and see what you like best. It's more work because then you have to manually resize pics.

Gadwin also allow for you to crop pics if I'm not mistaken. You just have to change the options. I'm not sure, but when I used it, I could crop the screencap to only part of the screen.

Also, nice beginning. Can't wait to read more.

Have to go now. I'm at work. xD

i don't mind giving the in game camera a go, do you know any programs that could downsize all the pictures at once though?

I don't know. I use photoshop because I also like to edit the pics' contrast, brightness and erase the plumbob when I forget it in of each image.

Thank you, I appreciate your comments. For me I've been looking at some of the most popular ones and ones that have been going for several generations. the Storms is a good one.
