It was four years today since his father disappeared, people said he must be dead, but that was his dad, it couldn't be true! And every year on the anniversary this huge storm struck, bringing devastation to the area. No way can that be a coincidence, not ten years running.

And there came the reason, a gentle wave to her hips as she waked. She carried two bottles of coke in one hand two ice cream in the other. For a few seconds he was stunned into motionlessness, gazing at the long legs and the tiny bikini before he thought, hey, that's my girl, my girl, I should go help.  He jumped up, somebody actually fancied him!

Ashton puffed and panted, trying his hardest to keep up. And this was only a warm up! God, I thought I was fit!  He was out of breath, he was tired, he was aching, but he had to keep going. The army marching towards them, ever forwards, never giving up, were five times the size of his at least. His men couldn't afford to molly-coddle him, he had to lead these people, make them have faith in him – he just hoped non of them ever saw him training!

Ashton had only been n this world about for Earth months, he thought (there was nothing he recognized as a calendar here, though they could tell the passage of time accurately), but he'd somehow found himself in charge of uniting the different regions into one army to battle a common enemy. They insisted he was the Uniter their texts spoke of.

He looked up, watching their look out circle in the morning sun. The golden scales shimmered like he was a ball of fire.

"Incoming Sir!"

A loud bugle tore through the subdued life of the camp. People around him grabbed their mounts and climbed on. Lions, komodo dragons, every lizard imaginable. One man even grew a pair of wings. Ashton saddled his dragon.

Yeah, why read fantasy books here? He thought.  Just join the army.

A small smile spread across Sookie's face. "Hi Hun, how are you?"

"I'm ok, I was wondering if you wanted to go swimming tonight? I'm in the area."

Sookie stopped half way across the kitchen. "Tonight? But I thought it was the full moon? Won't you be... You know?"

"Yeah babe, I will. I know you said you'd always wanted to swim with dolphins. I can't grow fins, but how'bout three-hundred pounds of fur?"

Sookie nodded at the phone, before laughing at her stupidity. "When and where?" she asked. This would be great!

A/N Written for 100 drabbles of summer, I'm using this as a chance to try out some fandoms I watch but haven't gotten around to reading.

A double use drabble, both for the thursday prompt in charloft, and for my 100 drabbles of summer table. Ashton and Kim, from a novel in progress (well, more like in planning)

Whether it is lightning, static, the kind between two people or the kind that lives inside your wall, give us a short short on electricity

Kim trembled. Ash looked into her eyes, just below him. He was covering her, trying to protect her from the fighting. He opened his mouth, platitudes on his lips, when he saw the naked fury burning in her caramel-brown eyes. He frowned.

Suddenly she snarled, an animalistic sound he'd never heard. She rolled him off of her, standing in one fluent move, his hung off her shirt, failing to keep her down.

"Enough!" she screamed, eyes blazing. White light flew up around her, lightning from a storm cloud. It flew out hitting enemies, leaving friends unharmed.

"What the hell, Kim?"
